OH MY GOSH WOW THE FEELS.
I can imagine the premise for an AU with this as the cover art. Sephiroth has grown up in Hojo's lab, but Lucrecia is there as well. They don't get to see each other often, but Lucrecia genuinely loves her son. Hojo treats both of them as specimens. As he grows older, Sephiroth becomes protective of his mother as he witnesses Hojo's abusive treatment of her. They're trapped in the lab and they can't escape, and they have only each other for comfort. One day, Sephiroth sprouts his wing, and they have their chance to get away, but now they have to function in a world Lucrecia hasn't set foot in for over 25 years and that Sephiroth has never been exposed to, all the while avoiding recapture.
You can really see how Sephiroth cares about Lucrecia, how hurt Lucrecia is, and how power-mad Hojo is. THIS is a work of art.

Really awesome picture of this brilliant but ethically challenged family... Regardless of his parents looking like they're about the same age as him - let's not "think too much" about that.

Mommy seems to be very sad about all the craziness and destruction. Too bad for her (too) that she didn't know better in the past.
